The Zhen Gong (True Essence) School of Feng Shui represents the quintessence of this traditional Chinese art, which claims a 5,000-year history. Though not so well-known to many people, it has made an outstanding contribution to the well-being of the Chinese nation. It has been used to avert dangers, surmount difficulties and re-channel the course of human life. A feng shui master of the zhen gong school makes an astute observation of the location of the house or building of a family or organization (either a farm, store, factory, mine, school, village urban community or city) as well as the inside layout of the house or building and then sets out to effect a complete change in feng shui accordingly. He also studies the geomantic omens of a tomb, introduces necessary remedies and thereby brings good luck and prosperity to the offsping of the deceased. The merits and achievements of the feng shui of the zhen gong school have far surpassed those of other schools of feng shui art in China.
The art of feng shui of the zhen gong school has a solid foundation and has been handed down from generation to generation. The great feng shui master of zhen gong school of a certain period taught the art of feng shui to his most promising disciple whom he had chosen as his successor. From the very beginning, all masters of the Zhen Gong school of Feng Shui strictly followed the rule that each master can only teach one disciple and the secrets of the Feng Shui art should not be disclosed to any other person and that the Feng Shui art should be taught to the right person alone. It takes extraordinarily painstaking efforts to master the unique and intricate feng shui art of the zhen gong school. None of the great feng sh.ui masters of the zhen gong school in different periods ever committed the experiences of their feng shui practice to writing; they passed on their experiences to their disciples only in person. That is why only a very few people in the past had access to the knowledge of feng shui of the zhen gong school.
In recent years, as the traditional Chinese culture has received ever greater attention both in China and abroad, the feng shui art of the zhen gong school has also become the focus of interest of an increasing number of people. The following is a brief account of the development of the feng shui art of the zhen gong school in modern period.
The Chinese press published an article which remarks that modern Chinese history was actually written by a great feng shui master. Is there any truth in this remark? Without knowing the background to this remark, one may doubt its truthfulness. Who was this great feng shui master? Did he really deserve such high credit? As a matter of fact there did exist such a great feng shui master and his name was Bu Guo Wu. Bu was an eminent feng shui master of the zhen gong school in modern period. He enjoyed a high reputation throughout China in his time and is held in veneration to this day. He made optimum selection of the sites of houses or tombs of the parents or ancestors of many of the most influential figures of modern China and thus paved the way for the future success of their distinguished offspring. His astute observation of the geomantic omens of the houses or tombs of many families was instrumental in bringing good fortune to these f 'lies. He commanded great respect and the ad ation of the people for his mastery of the feng shui art of the zhen gong school, yet he led a simple and quiet life, seeking neither fame nor wealth.
Then there was a Master Wang (who asked his disciple not to disclose his full name), who succeeded Bu Guo Wu as a great protagonist of the zhen gong school of feng shui. Master Wang was a man of great integrity and high intelligence. He studied astrology in his early years. Fortunately, he met Bu Guo Wu and was chosen by the latter as his sole discipline. He learned from his mentor all the valuab;e feng shui knowledge and skills of the zhen gong school. For several decades, he led a semi-reclusive life and practiced feng shui to benefit a large number of people. In the meantime, he was looking for a brilliant student, to whom he could impart his feng shui expertise.
Then, Huang Runtian entered the picture. He is gifted with a keen intellect. He comes from a family of doctors of traditional Chinese medicine. As a child, he started to lean from his grand-father-in-law traditional Chinese medicine and medical qi gong. Later on in his life, he was well versed in Chinese medicine and medical qi gong. He pursued his career as a medical doctor. He travelled far and wide in the country, visited remote, backward places and gave medical treatment to the poor people. He cured them of many serious maladies. His medical practice proved a great boon to the sick and needy. He was also keen to visit and learn from eminent feng shui masters. After a long and difficult journey, he reached Master Wang's abode in the countryside. He found in Wang, a venerable, senior feng shui master who was appreciative of his aptitude and ability. They felt like old friends at their very first meeting. Huang was soon chosen by Master Wang as his disciple. After receiving more than a decade of individual teaching and training from his mentor, Huang Runtian eventually became the sole successor of the art of feng shui of the zhen gong (true essence) school.
In all the succeeding years, following his mentor's teaching, Huang has spared no effort to employ his feng shui expertise to promote the well-being of the people. He has made great achievements in the field of feng shui, which has earned him a widespread reputation. He has received numerous invitations from individuals and organization both at home and abroad to undertake projects for solving their problems of feng shui. He has a strong sense of professional ethic and has never tried to claim entire credit to himself. He has declined all those feng shui projects which can be tackled by other feng shui methods. He has undertaken only those projects of extreme complexity, which other feng shui practitioners have tried to tackle many times but all have failed. Because of his mastery of the art of feng shui of the zhen gong school, the quintessence of feng shui art, he has been able to tackle these difficult feng shui projects successfully. In introducing modifications or applying remedies to feng shui, he has most often used the most simple and convenient methods to solve the most complex problems of feng shui. His clients at home and abroad have all been immensely impressed by the remarkable feats of his feng shui practice and acclaimed them as "miracles". For example, his lecture tour in the Philippines in the spring of 1992 was prolonged from the originally scheduled three weeks to nearly siz months simply because his miraculous performance of the feng shui art during the tour produced a great sensation among the general public and he was asked to stay longer in order that his feng shui expertise could benefit more Filipinos. As a result, his clients in Manila, Cebu, Davao and some other Philippine cities were among the beneficiaries of his feng shui art. Many of his clients used to be victimized by wide ranging problems such as strikes, bomb damages, deaths, injuries, fires, robberies, financial losses, underhanded scheming by other people, chronic diseases and other accidents or misfortunes due to poor feng shui. After his introduction of modifications to their feng shui, these clients were immediately freed from all the distresses or troubles and began to enjoy good luck and prosperity.
The feng shui of the zhen gong (true essence) school is a well-established art of long standing. In order to meet the pressing needs of the feng shui enthusiasts, Master Huang Runtian has offered training classes in the rudiments of the zhen gong art of feng shui, the first of its kind in the history of China. Several thousand feng shui practioners have already been trained in this way.
